"I have been a member of the Rainbow Workshop family for more than 30 years. I first came to Rainbow as a student in 1991, followed by my two younger sisters. Mrs. Lawton has created a truly special school community in her 40 years of work. Rainbow’s unique curriculum introduces children to cultures from around the globe, and is based on the principles of love, peace, and respect for one another. These are things our world needs now more than ever. My wife and I could not be happier to have our children attend Rainbow Workshop, and learn to be good citizens and peacemakers with Mrs. Lawton."
Kelsey McKenna Class of 1998 "I am so grateful for my time at Rainbow Workshop. Thanks to Mrs. Lawton, I have amazing memories and friendships that have lasted over 25 years! Rainbow taught me to be a peacemaker, to be kind and to care for people all over the world as well as care for our planet. All the values I learned as a child help me to be an amazing nurse. I’m a critical care nurse that has worked with adults in a Surgical-Trauma ICU and now work with some of the tiniest humans in the Neonatal ICU. My desire to help and care for people has only grown since my time at Rainbow."
Dr. Andrew Fitzgerald Class of 1995- "Rainbow Workshop instilled in me a contagious enthusiasm for learning and a commitment to a peaceful and loving world for all. Mrs. Lawton and my mom, Mrs. Fitzgerald, fostered an appreciation and responsibility for community both in the local sense of a classroom and in the global sense of ecosystems and communities of nations. What began with Rainbow’s in-class cross-cultural experiences carried through my international travels for language study in the Middle East and North Africa and Ph.D. research at Stanford University. Close to 30 years later, I’m looking forward to helping my own students cultivate their imaginations and fostering similar values as an Assistant Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. "
Sarah Martin- Rainbow Class of 1995 “My time at Rainbow Workshop helped create a foundation of love, kindness, and respect for others, caring for our planet, adventure, and believing in yourself enough to chase your dreams. I have been a full time musician for ten years now, being able to do what I love, singing in Nashville for 6 years, releasing music, traveling the country, and continuing to live the values Rainbow Workshop taught me. I am very proud, and feel very fortunate, to have been able to attend Rainbow Workshop for the 1994-1995 school year. Still as an adult, when I happen to drive by Rainbow Workshop- I smile- telling whoever is in the car, what a wonderful experience I had there.”

Kerrin Gullison- Class of 1995 "Rainbow Workshop holds a special place in my heart. I graduated with the class of 1995 and I am so grateful for all of the memories I have from this magical place. Mrs. Lawton was like Miss Frizzle from the “Magic School Bus”. She always went above and beyond to make sure her students had rich experiences and a strong understanding of what it means to be a “peace maker” in the world. At Rainbow Workshop, we explored the world through our imagination. I traveled to Egypt, China, Germany, and the rainforest all in one year. I learned how to be accepting, welcoming, and loving towards my neighbors. I learned the true meaning of “community” and how I could have an impact on the world around me.
Fast forward 27 years, and Rainbow Workshop is still a part of my life. My niece just graduated from Rainbow Workshop and my nephew is just starting his Rainbow Journey. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire and now work as a pediatric occupational therapist across the state of New Hampshire. I was also the President of the New Hampshire Occupational Therapy Association for 2 years, and I am now starting a part-time job at a residential facility for students with neurodevelopmental disorders in the foster care system. Throughout my career, I have always had this “go big” attitude when it comes to helping children fully enjoy their childhood memories. People often comment that I am a child at heart because I am all “sunshine and rainbows”, and I hope that never fades. Thank you for all of the positive childhood memories, Mrs. Lawton. You have had such an incredible impact on my life and this world. "
Jessica Shahdan Muldoon- Class of 1987 "40 years! Wow! I am so honored to be a part of the Rainbow family and even more thrilled that I get to experience the journey again through Henry. Rainbow was/is the best place to begin your school journey. There is not better place that allows the children to view the vast world with open eyes and amazement. You have always encouraged kindness and set the foundation for finding ways to enjoy what you are learning all while having fun. Thank you, thank you for sharing your passion and kindness to so many people. Your generosity and spirit do not go unnoticed.
Along with Rainbow, I was lucky enough to celebrate my 40th birthday earlier this year. I feel very blessed for the life I have lived. I am very happily married to my soulmate, John. We have two amazing children, Henry (4) and Lea (8 months). Henry is currently enrolled at Rainbow Workshop and getting to relive my Rainbow days all over again through his eyes is so fun. I've had a career that I am very proud of, working in Maritime Operations. I lived in New Jersey and South Carolina before returning to Massachusetts to be closer to family. I try to be a very positive person and believe we should never stop learning or growing. "

Amanda Cardinali- Rainbow 2011- "I am a Rainbow alumnus and currently a Junior at Bristol County Agricultural High School as a Landscape Design and Contracting major. Although I cried a lot at Rainbow, Mrs. Lawton and Mrs. Fitzgerald were always caring and kind. Mrs. Lawton held me many days. They showed me much compassion and helped me adjust to being in school. I learned about different countries and cultures, learned to love nature, animals and the earth, and made some lifelong friendships at Rainbow.
I will always remember my time at Rainbow and smile."

"My name is Judson Cardinali and I am currently a sophomore at Apponequet Regional High School. I have many happy memories of my days at Rainbow Workshop and Learning Center. In addition to going to preschool at Rainbow, I also participated in the Pathway to Peace -American Experience Program. Mrs. Lawton and Mrs. Fitzgerald were supportive, kind and caring teachers who gave me a great foundation for learning. I made friendships, learned about myself and learned about the world. Going to Rainbow helped me grow in confidence and set me on a path for helping the world, loving to learn and seeking adventure."
