Rainbow Workshop and Learning Center consists of an
Indoor & Outdoor Classroom
The center uses the natural world and our surroundings to assist us in reaching our highest goals addressing child development and growing future caretakers of the planet. Running through all domains- cognitive, social, emotional, physical and a continued growth and understanding of a healthy environmental code of ethics and kindness towards all living creatures and our environment.
It has been highly documented through research and practicum that using the natural world as a classroom aids and benefits all children in:
Imagination and Creative Thinking Skills
Self Confidence
Increased Awareness and More developed sense of Spatial Choices
Motor Skills and Development
Independence
Appropriate Risk Taking
Strengthened Immune and Health Benefits
Mental Health; has also been proven to benefit children with Sensory- Autism- and other concerns.
Social Skills and Development of Being a Helpful Friend
Creating a Life Long love of Joy - Wonder - Discovery - Ownership
We are inspired by the daily movement of the sun and the formation of clouds, the breeze and the dancing of the trees, the songs of the birds, the bugs, slugs and worms that are discovered in their natural habitats, while foraging, the formation of rain puddles and snowflakes and buds that burst forth in the spring.
Across, all domains, we are able to bring math, science, language, geography, engineering, art and music into each day which allows our children to embrace a wide range of experiences through the use of natural tools alongside our indoor classroom tools and experiences.
When we allow our imaginations to take us far beyond the four walls of an indoor space, we open up endless possibilities, allowing us to journey across all continents, experiencing new cultures, and believing that we are truly caretakers of all we are given.
